The physical and mechanical properties of the vulcanizates filled with light calcium carbonate are slightly higher than those filled with heavy calcium carbonate.
Application of activated calcium carbonate in rubber field
Compared with the modified calcium carbonate, the modified calcium carbonate generally has the characteristics of smaller particle size, lower oil absorption value, better dispersion and better reinforcement.
The reinforcing property of modified calcium carbonate is much better than that of unmodified calcium carbonate. Its reinforcing property is mainly due to the fact that the surface modifier is an organic matter with amphiphilic groups, that is, it has hydrophilic groups and oilphilic groups. The surface modifier closely binds calcium carbonate and rubber together through the two groups, which is beneficial to improving the physical and mechanical properties of rubber and improving the processing properties. And improve the product elongation, tensile strength, tear strength and other properties.
Application of nano-calcium carbonate in rubber field
Nanometer calcium carbonate has high activity, and its reinforcing property is much higher than that of light calcium carbonate, which is equivalent to precipitated white carbon black. Nano calcium carbonate has good dispersibility and compatibility in rubber, which can make rubber easy to mix and disperse, improve the processing property of rubber, and improve the mechanical properties of products. At the same time, nano-calcium carbonate has a three-dimensional structure and various particle forms. It is found that the reinforcing effect of different crystalline nano-calcium carbonate on rubber is different, and the interlocking nano-calcium carbonate has the best reinforcing effect on rubber.
